Module 3 · An Article Describing a Place

Practice topic: A Special Day at Souq Waqif. Learn to write a catchy title and four paragraphs: introduction, features, personal impression and highlight, then recommendation. Includes descriptive adjectives, a question and an exclamation.

Module 4 · A Formal Information Email

Practice topic: a summer training enquiry. Use a formal greeting, purpose, personal details, three polite information requests, a closing and a matching sign-off with your full name. The programme and names are fictional.

Module 5 · A Report

Practice topic: foreign language learning in a school community. Use a title and headings, explain the purpose, describe languages and resources, identify learners and reasons, then recommend improvements. All model observations are fictional practice data.

Each course includes ten vocabulary entries with approximate Arabic pronunciation, Arabic meaning and simple bilingual examples; Arabic meanings for verbs and linkers; an original model; bilingual writing frames; and practice before assessment.

Each station is marked out of 20. At least 10/20 opens the next station. Stations 1–5 are automatically marked; stations 6–10 need teacher review. Each course has separate progress and students can retry after feedback.

Optional browser drafts are shown separately as unsubmitted and ungraded. Students see their own report; the teacher can select a student’s report.

Grounded in Portal to English 10A Workbook: Module 3 pp.34–37; Module 4 pp.46–50; Module 5 pp.58–61. The workbook cites Student Book pp.42–43, 54–55 and 68–69 respectively. Original simplified teaching models are used. Teachers set the final writing length; no universal examination word count is assumed.
